There is a updated ss for this year . I take tests before every shot, and +5, +6 and sometimes at night, 3-4 hours after the pm shot. I.ll try to get new ss from this group. I.ll have to figure it out how first. I am fretty clumbsy with the computers. It seems like i am writting on the wrong topics of the groups o lot of timesHi. Looks like you are not using our spreadsheet but rather one that another Facebook group copied from us. You also never started a new one with the new year. So would you please start ours? The ss gets very long after a year and this one doesn’t work well on my many phones.
With TR you need to test before each shot. You also need at least one more test each cycle. Are you doing that and not updating your as by any chance? Since dosing is based upon how low a dose takes the cat you need some tests at nadir. You can do that by getting the second test at a different time each cycle, day and night between +4-7.
Bounces are quite frustrating I agree. They about from dropping lower than the cat is used to or dropping too fast. They can 2-4 days to clear, so you don’t want to base dosing upon a bounce cycle. The bounce clearing cycle can be quite active and can even lead to another bounce. Do if you see the bg dropping quickly feed a lc snack to slow things down. You won’t know that without a few extra tests though.
You say I should increase when I see green nadirs ? But I thought that would drop the numbers even lower. Maybe I don.t understand what a " bounce" is. I am sure there is a definition somewere here on the forum, but i.m really clumsy, I won't find it. Could you please explain it to me?To deal with bounces, grit your teeth, and put on a pair of patience pants.Seriously, it is your cat's defence mechanism against lower numbers than they are used to, or too steep a drop in numbers. Bounces are not a bad thing, almost all cats bounce. The only way to reduce the number of bounces is patience and to make sure you are feeding so his numbers don't drop too quickly and he gets to a dose where he sees more normal numbers. You are holding doses way too long for following TR. With TR, you increase every 10 cycles if you are seeing green nadirs - which you are.
It's perfectly fine to increase while he is bouncing, just try to avoid increasing during the cycle he is breaking the bounce as it can lead to an extra downward momentum that needs more momentum. And those fast downward movements can cause bounces as above.
How are you feeding Puffy now? How much and at what times? Maybe there is a way to slow down what look like fast drops. More information in this post: Using Food to Manipulate the Curve
The other thing about TR, is you have to get at least two tests per cycle. The majority of the second night times tests are mixing. It's possible he's going low at night and you aren't catching it. If you can't get those second tests in the PM, then you can't follow TR for dosing. Everyone has different circumstances, health or lifestyle, not everyone has the ability to follow TR. That's why we have the second dosing method, the Start Low Go Slow Dosing Method.
