I was late last night giving my cat his shot - nearly 10 PM. I'd like to back it up to his usual 8 PM, but not sure quickly I can do this. I don't fret about 10 or 15 minutes, but 2 hours seems like a lot.
If you are testing blood glucose you can let the number guide you in shooting early. If you aren't testing, I wouldn't go more than one hour earlier to be on the safe side - and if he eats a good meal. You could try 30 minute increments and be back on track in a couple of days.
Thanks - I do test, but was concerned that even if the # is ok, that there might still be insulin in his system. He gets a high dose, and so perhaps I'm a little extra careful. I haven't had a hypo, and don't want one.
