High Triglyceride Food Suggestions

Hello everyone,
My cat Hadley is diabetic and well controlled on Bexacat. A month or so her bloodwork showed pretty high triglycerides, and she was put on Fenofibrate. With this med her numbers have come down a bit but are still too high. We’re sticking with the medication for the time being. My question is about food. She is currently eating canned Purina DM, and the vet would like to keep her on it until her triglycerides get lower. Normally I would be fine with that but in the last week or so she has been eating less of it and seems less interested. She does tend to have low level “simmering” pancreatitis (says blood work) that we treat at home when she seems “down.” I’m not sure if this is potentially what is going on because she is not 100% herself, and I have a call in to her internal medicine doc. I know that’s a lot of info, but I want to be through - I’m wondering if anyone has advice on a food that is better? I want to find something that is good for both the diabetes and the high triglycerides if this is possible. I’m thinking there’s a chance she is just no longer liking this food, which is why I am exploring alternatives. I would love any advice! Thank you so much.

Thank you for the reply. About a month ago they were at roughly 1400, and as of last week they were down to 500. She is still on the meds as we try to bring them down to normal but I am happy they are at least decreasing. Since her vet would like her to stay on the Purina DM for now I’m looking for another food that is diabetic appropriate and low-fat to at least supplement. She seems to be losing interest in the DM. do you have any thoughts on good food options?

It is very hard to find a low-carb, low fat food since the only other calorie nutrient is protein. Typical low-fat food will be high carb.
I was just looking at the BW results for y cats. I I havemone cat at one proctice and the other six at another practice. One practice uses Antech and Nala's triglycerides were 208 with range of 25-160. The other vet muses Idexx and their senior blood panel does not even measure triglycerides.

I kind of figured this would be the case. I was looking through Lisa Pierson’s cat food comparison chart that I know some people here are pretty familiar with… Do you happen to know much about it? If so, here’s a big question I have. The chart does have Purina DM (cat’s current diet) listed with the protein/fat/carb breakdown, and I was wondering if I could essentially skim her food list and try to find a food with lower fat and carbs, and assume that if her numbers are correct and another food appears better, it would be a better choice for her than the DM. I’m hoping that makes sense

The DM is 49/40/10 (protein, fat, carbs respectively) and at a quick glance of her chart it seems like I could do much better in terms of this breakdown. There are definitely some foods listed on there that are higher protein and lower fat along with low carbs. I’m guessing since her formula is the same for every food she analyzes I should just be able to find more appropriate numbers and choose a food that way, but the math is so complicated that I want to make sure before I go switching things around too much
