I have been using the Friskies Senior Diet Chicken & Tuna because it was readily available at the grocery store and has about 25% carbs. Jenks' body seems to respond to the gravy component, but there's so little of it free in the container because it's mostly bound up on the little cubes of food. It's also so thick that I have trouble pressing it through a sieve trying to extract the maximum amount possible. So I end up only getting like 1 or 2 tbsp out of an entire can.
Last night, I tried Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers. There's more gravy in the can, it's thinner, and I was able to extract more through a sieve for at least three doses. But it's not as high in carbs, and it didn't seem to really boost his blood sugar very well.
Are there any brands out there with a significant gravy component that are also >20% carbs?
