Help with low preshot lantus

yeah that's good info, and one of the reasons we bought two human meters. I will sometimes do a BG test with both and compare. So far, only a difference of 1 or 2.

there's really no reason to use a "pet meter" as far as I can tell.
 
It's good for vets to know if you are monitoring at home and vet will work with you on a human meter so they have a chart comparison.

Now that I know the vet could pretty much care less I'm going to back to the human meter.

I might go buy another one that does the small amount of blood someone mentioned. Sometimes I get a good drop come out, sometimes it is teeny.

Thanks for everyone's' help in my distress! Feeding a little before taking his BG level in the am has helped some. Hopefully he'll get used to the new routine soon.
 
that's the one thing I miss about the Alpha Trak 2 -- it could get a reading off of the tiniest of droplets

our human meters both require a little bit larger droplet. But still small -- .5ul I think
