So while we are on the subject of syringes, when you draw the insulin into the syringe, do not expel any excess insulin back into the ProZinc vial. Once it’s in the syringe, any excess should be squirted out onto a paper towel or into a sink, etc. The reason for this is that insulin syringes have lubricants in them and you don’t want to risk contaminating your vial by re-injecting the insulin back into the ProZinc vial. Perhaps you were already aware of this?
