Hello. I am looking for advice on dosage. @Suzanne & Darcy hes at 75 this morning pre shot!! I had already given him food when I tested. What should I do?
I gave him the 3.25. I will be keeping a close eye on him today!!Also, he has earned a dose reduction down to 3.25 units. That is a good thing.
This give me hope we’re getting somewhere!! Thank you!!He may go up high in a bounce today from the green.
Yes! Fingers crossed it’s a good sign!! He’s acting so happy tooHe went down into blue today! Love it. I kept checking his SS looking for updates.
Seems like we’re making baby steps to getting under control!!!He bobbled around a bit then went into the red. I am wondering if he still will be high this morning. It’s great to hear that he’s acting so happy. This makes my day!
I did accidentally give him a high carb food instead of a medium carb the other night when he was dropping quick and I had to sleep. Would that make him high for a long time?Well, no. I don’t think you made a mistake. You are following the protocol, which is good. I think he would do better on the MPM Protocol, but unfortunately he eats a little dry food so he can’t follow that protocol.
It was wet. I think 20%. Would you up him again this afternoon? I am off Monday and Tuesday. What percentage of carbs? If it was wet food it should wear off relatively quickly. It certainly shouldn’t last into the next cycle.
With Start Slow Go Slow protocol, the doses are held for 7 days (14 cycles) so it’s too early to increase just yet.)It was wet. I think 20%. Would you up him again this afternoon? I am off Monday and Tuesday.
Well that makes me feel better it’s normal. The very high numbers just worry me. Along with how fast he’s dropping. I took him to the vet because he kept messing with his ears. They said it could be ear mites so they gave me drops and clipped his nails. This is not an unusual pattern. He is definitely responding to the insulin very well now. In the last few days, he went up from the blues and then came back down pretty quickly. It looks like he’s really reacting to those lovely greens with some very high numbers. Let’s see how quickly he clears the high numbers. It’s a pretty typical pattern. The good news is he’s earned reductions.
What happened at the vet?
