Dyana,
I am so sorry. I am crying, JD a beautiful kitty who had the best of care for 20yrs. He was and is so loved.
Even though, I haven't been in LL very long, I have looked forward to Jd's condos. I will miss him very much, he looks very much like Michael. The bond between you & JD was extraordinary.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
JD is playing on the rainbow bridge and I know he will send you a sign that he is o.k
LL will deeply miss JD. May he rest in peace.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. I am crying too. Your devotion to J.D. has always inspired me so much. I hope you find peace in knowing that you gave him all the love and compassion in the world. He had the best mama a kitty could ask for. I can't imagine how you must feel, and I wish I could be there in person to offer some help. You are in my thoughts, and I am sending lots of love and comfort your way.

I can't make it hurt less, though I would give anything to be able to do so.

In my years on the board, I have never seen a kitty or a caregiver fight so hard and fight so well, for just one more day together.

I saw your condo from this morning before seeing this. With all of my heart, I hope that you can hold on to this memory as you try to deal with your overwhelming loss...

I know how bad you feel. You and JD have been an
Inspiration to all of us on FDMB and your devotion to him
Was incredible. You had him for 20 loving years and he was
Loved every day of those years by you!
You did absolutely everything possible to keep him
Going all these years so please have no regrets!
Our babies are so special having so many special needs.
And we stay committed to them gladly for their Love.

But one day, that wretched day comes when their little

Oh Dyana I am so sorry about your J.D. I was always amazed and impressed with the way you cared for J.D. You should not have any regrets.

When my Donny passed, I kept him with me for several days before driving him to the crematorium. Butthead was taken away immediately after, and it didn't feel right. It bothered me for a long time. I say take as long as you need to spend time with J.D., pet him, talk to him. It helped me tremendously, though needless to say, it still hurt like hell to leave him behind :cry:

I just read this on facebook and had to come over and tell you how deeply sorry I am that you've lost your sweet boy. You were an awesome mom to him! I am so sad for you and wish there was something I could say to ease your heartbreak.

deb called me last night to tell me...... I did not post then cause I could think of no comforting words. I thought surly something will come to me in my dreams.
nope, I can find no words to comfort or take away or ease your pain.

You were the absolute best momma to JD. the love you and he had for each other was truly amazing. there is nothing you did not do for your boy.

seems as though he returned that gift of love by waiting til you were gone. that is how strong that bond of love was. he did not want to see you hurting.

take all the time you need to be with him

I've been away from the computer most of the day and evening, and I when I checked my email I saw a post from Chris about J.D. I'm still in shock. We all thought he would be here forever - your care of him was so complete and selfless. I can't imagine the pain you are going through. I wish there was more we can do for you, but know you are in our prayers and we are all shedding tears tonight for your sweet boy. I guess that's right, Dian. I haven't cried so many tears in forever, since my soul mate horse passed 20 years ago.
Ginger and I took a walk outside a little while ago. She is acting indifferent. I wish she would be more loving and affectionate at this time, but she is not.

I keep petting him, because his fur is so soft. I wish I didn't have to stop petting him :(

Thank you for your support and prayers.

The vet is still not open yet. I called the ER vet and they gave me the phone number and location of the pet cremation place. Where and how do I get the paw print, the one that is pushed into a soft surface and then hardens?

Dyana, the crematory often offers a variety of remembrance services. Cast paw prints, ink paw prints, etc. My guys were all returned in beautiful urns with plaques, a framed ink paw print, and a lock of fur. Call around and see what is offered and choose what you want. (I also sent something with each of my guys. With Spike, a piece of pizza. With Annie, her favorite sprarkle ball. Bud took his favorite stuffy on his journey. I sent tufts of Polly fur with Charley as he loved her so.)

Dyana,

The vet did it for me when Andy passed away, it depends on the vet you take them to. I had him cremated and they did his pawprint and gave me a clipping of his hair. Oh I am so sorry.

The crematorium I used didn't do any of that :sad: ... though they did save fur and whiskers if I asked.

You can get clay from Michael's or A.C. Moore - it's the same stuff as in the kit - Fimo clay. Knead the bejeebus out of it and make a pancake the size you want. I used two flat plates to sandwich it and make a smooth surface, and it also helps to have a hard surface behind it when you are making the impression. If you're like me, you'll have to make several to get a good one. I did one for each of Donny's four paws.

I am so very sorry that this awful day has come to you and your boy. There is comfort that he went on his own terms, in his own time although you might not feel that way right now. You always did everything to help him through all these years and he loved you as much as you loved him.
There are 20 years of memories that you do have in your heart to comfort you in the days and weeks to come....we always would wish for more, but 20 years is such a blessing!! You two have been so very close for all that time.
I know that J.D. is having a big reunion with all his forum friends who were there to greet him....they always loved having parties with each other and they are all rejoicing to be together again.....

Please give Ginger a hug from me....Raja was that way when Shadow passed....just accepting of life and death in such a wise and elegant way. Meanwhile, we Beans are feeling such terrible pain.

I am crying along with you, Dyana...my heart is breaking for you.....

Thank you. J.D.'s regular vet just called to say how sorry she was. She said I could bring the kit to them and the girls in the back room will do it for me.
I begged a neighbor to come with me to the cremation. She's a cat lover and usually babysits Ginger when J.D. and I went to California. She has a cold and doesn't want to give it to me, so I hope I can ward that off with positive thoughts.

IF you have the putty, you can also make a nose print....
you can then reverse cast , and have an ornament made with his nose.... or jewelry.....
