My cat Miles was diagnosed with diabetes in late November. Since that time, I've had him on vetsulin, 1 unit twice daily (more than that makes his lethargy worse) but I'm now ready to switch to Lantus. Is there a way to use U100 needles with Lantus pens?
Miles preshot number this morning was 435, clearly in the red. I got him into a new vet this morning who specializes in felines and I'm so thankful to have found her. He's lost way too much weight (almost 25%) but is eating three times the amount he used to. She suspects an underlying condition (ie: hyperthyroidism, pancreatitis or triaditis) is causing the uncontrolled diabetic symptoms.
Miles has not improved on vetsulin so she strongly recommended switching to Lantus. I have the Lantus in hand but no Lantus pen needles, thus my question. I'm almost tapped out financially (spent almost 3G in the last six weeks) so I'm hoping it's possible to use the needles I have.
Thank you for any help you can provide
