I posted this in the Intro Forum, but it was suggested that I re-post here in the main forum:

Thank you, again, to those who already welcomed me. I created a new account so that I could include my feline partner in crime's name to my Account name. I hope that makes sense. Anyway... I look forward to learning and sharing, here. I'm so grateful to have found this group. :)

Chase is a 10 yr 9 mth old orange Tabby who weighs about 14 1/2 pounds.

Diagnosis on 1/15/17, with his blood glucose level being 549.

I'm giving him 1 unit of Lantus approx. 12 hours apart.

I test at home using the Alpha Trak.

After 2 weeks of trying everything under the sun to get him to eat, I finally got it. He gets Purina DM mixed with some meat baby food, that goes through my Nutribullet and ends up being a thick paste.

Welcome. You are getting a good start. That BG level is really high. Like Larry said, it is good to test at the midpoint (6 hours) to measure effectiveness. The low point is called the nadir. Lots of good info on this site.

Thank you, so much. I know the BG level is very high, but we only just started treatment 2 weeks ago. He wasn't eating well at first, but how he's back to his old self and is begging for more food. LOL. I asked, in a different thread, how much I should be feeding him in wet food.

I will use the spreadsheet. I'm so glad I found this site. :)
