The most important item - treats. We have access to Petco and Walmart. Any recs?

The liver PureBites sometimes, but mostly the other two.

Stopping the insulin with still high numbers, could be asking for troubles as getting ketoacidosis (DKA, diabetes ketoacidosis).
Simba had very high numbers and developed both severe pancreatitis and semi-severe DKA at the same time. He spent 2 weeks in intensive care at hospital and they said the prognosis wasn't good that he survived, but my little guy turned around after a week, and it was a very happy renuinon when he came home, but it also costed me $$$$ dollars to get him back home alive.
The longest I've ever had him off insulin for a non-insulin curve has been 3 days. With the hospitals advice, we needed to check something then. Apart from that he has always had his daily insulin, and so far no new DKA again (knock on wood).
