My friend, Dixie, just called to tell me her cat, Jake, had a +3 reading of 70 this morning. He's been on insulin for 4-5 years and Levemir about 1 month and this is the best his reading has ever been. Yes, she's watching him carefully for BG going too low and maybe adjusting the dose but, to say the least - she's thrilled.

Just curious, what insulin was Jake on before the switch to Levemir? Glad to hear he is responding to the Lev. We are all believers here! Nice to hear she is hometesting too!

Jake was on Vetsulin and his BG was completely yo-yo. It's pretty stable now.

That is good news (I was out of town from the day you posted until a few days ago). How has he been doing in the past two weeks?

Both of my cats were on vetsulin before lev. I don't have numbers for Jeddie, but Beau's numbers never were great. Better than without insulin, I guess, and better once I was home testing and lowering his dose, but, yeah, he was yo-yoing on it an had immediately better numbers on lev - although it took another member here to chart them versus his "old" numbers for me to really see it.
