Hi. Well Gary has finally started to have lower numbers. I'm att 2.5 lantus 2 x Day.
Because he was so high for so long when I see numbers starting to come down I start to panic. Right now he is at 107 at +5 in the morning cycle. Should I think about giving him a snack or should I wait a bit? You can see from my spreadsheet that I did back off to 2.25 the other night because he was under 200 and I panicked.
And not sure if this has any bearing but since I stopped shooting in the scruff area it appears the insulin works faster and longer? Might just be my imagination because I've been blaming myself for possibly giving FS all the time.
I posted on the Facebook page and well, but isn't this group the same? Thx

Yes, please give him a snack and test again in an hour? Did he get a snack at +4. In active cycles, it's a good idea to give a snack after each test to slow drops.

Some people have found that the location of the shot does make a difference. Others have shot in the scruff all the time and found it perfectly fine! :-)

I was out this morning so he didn't get snack. But now I know to give the snack every 4. Gave him one at +5 and will get back on track.
I think seeing these lower numbers the past few days is just so exciting, but also I have NO experience with him being in range. So I don't want to overreact. Like the other night I only have 2 units because he was low and kept going lower after he ate. I'm sure I will get the hang of it? And thank you all for the help.
