FYI- Natural Balance Venison & Pea Carb %

Good morning, all! I just wanted to pass along that I have received the as fed carb % for the Natural Balance Venison and Pea formula (not in Janet & Binky's Charts), which is 9.98%. I've requested that they send me the info for their other varieties, and I'll update this post when I receive them.

I had previously had Willie on a poultry elimination diet for his skin issues, so this formula was a potential option for us, but I remembered Dr. Lisa saying she thought it would be too high in carbs. I've only used it when he was low, but figured I'd get the numbers just to be sure.

Our other LID Canned Cat formulas contain the following Carbohydrate Analyses on an As-Fed Basis:

Green Pea & Salmon Canned Cat Formula: 6.49 % Carbohydrates
Green Pea & Duck Canned Cat Formula: 7.76 % Carbohydrates
Green Pea & Chicken Canned Cat Formula: 7.76 % Carbohydrates

Are the percentages you gave the % of calories from the carbs?

I'm not sure... this is what the company rep said in the email:


"With this being said, our LID Green Pea & Venison Canned Cat formula carbohydrate analysis on an As-Fed Basis is as follows:

Green Pea & Venison Canned Cat Formula: 9.98 % Carbohydrates"

Do I need to be asking more questions?

I would ask for clarification. A percentage by what? Calories? Weight?
