Yo cats and kittens of all ages

It’s time for everyone to gather together for the full moon pawty! Tonight, we celebrate the full Corn Moon! The Full Corn Moon doesn’t happen every year – the last one was 5 years ago. So our pawty tonight will be a little different as the Corn Moon pawties in the past have also been. We are working from some older notes that Chef Felix made after studying the recipes used by Chef Stu as well as a few things that the Krew and I have decided to add. This is also our first pawty back on the main message board, and tonight is a blood moon with a lunar eclipse. So we have many things to celebrate tonight!

Appetizers: Matcha Latte; Green Apple Punch; Tuna Canapes with green catnip; Crispy Seaweed

Entrees: Turkey burgers with green spices; Shrimp wrapped in green-corn husks grilled in the fire; Thai Chicken Green Curry; Cabbage Rolls Stuffed with Slow Roasted Venison; Pork Green Chili; Pesto Pepperoni Pizza; Meowder Chowder served with Chef Felix's Sweet and Savory Crunchy Crouton Toppers.

Salads: Butthead's & Donny's field greens; Guacamole and Green Vegetables

Desserts: Chef Stu's world Famous Green Catmint Parfaits; Pistachio Cream Puffs; Avocado Cheesecake

Newer traditions include Bubba's MouseMousse; Leo's Chunky Tuna and Salmon Ice Cream with Sardine Sprinkles; Olive's Shoelaceghetti with a side of pickles; TinySolé's sister Cookie's cod brownies filled with catnip; PussCatDusty's crispy birds feet served on baked catnip wafers (mmmmm, crunchy!) as well as her sweet and sour skink tail vol-au-vents & freeze dried plain yoghurt balls; Chef Felix's Mediterranean platter with crunchy falafel, catmint mewli-tabouli, and smoked papurrika hummouse; Chieflet Luna's Longtail Surprise à la Rosa and Regan; Kitkat’s Duck pate stuffed mini cupcakes with catnip icing, served at mousie temperature. You'll find Bella's Catinis at the Bella Memorial Tiki Hut, together with tonight’s special items, Shamrock Lime Margaritas and Appletinis.

We have tents and tables and chairs set up for everyone as we have done for previous Corn Moon Pawties.

The Taster Blankets have been set up just a little away from the hustle and bustle, and we’ll find you a spot on them where you can enjoy the pawty in comfort if you’re not feeling up to dancing. They're the purrfect place to view the Circle of Remembrance at midnight, when the veil thins and we can purrceive our loved ones who have Gone Ahead partying with us. Olive’s Memorial Blanket can be found here too. We are still looking for someone to take over Kitchen Liaison Roxi’s duties. Please let me or any of the Krew know if you can help! The Krew will do their best to keep up with bringing the kitties on the Taster Blankets plenty of food as well as letting the Kitchen know if anything needs adjusting.

Our very own in-house dance troupe, “Ruby and the Kittens” are already getting warmed up ready to dance the night away. They’d love to have you join in and dance with them. Maybe you can teach them your favorite moves too!

It’s time to get this party started! Head on over and join us for a day and night of fun!

Check out our new aprons too! Aren’t they awesome?

How exciting, Chef Luna!!! Jude wants me to let you know he’s definitely attending. He’s busy now putting together his best corn-moon themed pawty outfit and says he’s really excited for the tuna and salmon ice cream with sardine sprinkles! And the dancing, of course! He hopes to see all his other FDMB friends tonight!!

Jude had me ask ChatGPT for some help with his outfit, and oh my! NONE of these are a winner. Plus, he says, "they make me look fat!" Still trying. We might just arrive sans costume, in his beautiful cream-tabby glory.
I think those outfits are awesome Jude! But if you think they make you look fat, then your cream-tabby glory is wonderful too. We're looking forward to seeing you at the pawty - do get here soon, we're getting started already. Everyone is dancing, and the first batch of food is just about ready. ~Chef Luna

I really wish we had a list of all the GAs in the group. It would be nice to see their names and, maybe, their date of crossing the bridge each time we have the Circle of Remembrance. I'm sure in a group this old and large, it's a very long list.
Someone actually did used to keep one each year and it would be posted with the Halloween party (which happens whether there's a full moon on Halloween or not). Now it's easier to search the board for very old posts, there might be a way of putting them all together, although I actually don't know if there's a current one for this year. @Sienne and Gabby (GA) @Marje and Gracie @Wendy&Neko - do any of you know who used to keep the list?

I surely don’t want to recreate or revamp any ongoing traditions we currently have. I wasn’t aware of the Halloween list. And I don’t want to create any extra work for you, @manxcat419! The Halloween honoring of our GAs is sufficient, I think.

As long as you're OK with that. I actually found all the posts back to 2011 pretty easily. I might put together a list of everything up to last Halloween anyway as I have all the posts open - it will only make a small file in computer terms, and you just never know when someone might want it.

A list of them all would be good! I just didn’t want to cause too much effort or take away from current traditions. Perhaps on Halloween, they might want to post a compilation of all the GAs, and monthly we can post those who’ve gone ahead during that month or year to date. Anyway, I think it’s such a good idea to remember our precious GAs.

I'm sure we can do that. I might not have it ready for tonight - there are a lot of names. And instead of a 10-mile long list, I'm actually going to compress the previous years down more like they're shown on the OTJ parties - so we'll still have cat and caregiver, but not in a single-file list which is how they've usually been posted. I don't have this year's data right now, but I can definitely look into adding names every month instead of once a year.

Kitties all. Gather round. Let's quiet our pawtying and dancing for a little while. Because it's time for the best part of every Full Moon pawty. It's time for the Circle of Remembrance. Our beloved GAs will soon be coming into view. Soon our pawty will resume and we'll feast and dance until dawn under the light of this very special full moon. But now let's be so still and quiet while we wait for the first glimpses of the pawty at the Bridge. ~Chef Luna

You don't need to do that. The mods keep an informal list so we can post the Halloween list each year. Of course, we don't always catch all of them, so it's good to read through those Halloween posts to see if someone adds one for us.

That's perfect. Thank you. I was actually giving some thought to how and what to search to find more recent ones than last year's Halloween post and I wasn't coming up with anything much.
