It was so much fun to read everyone's answers! It sounds like a lot of you have really beautiful views and surroundings, which is awesome. A great
place to live is worth a thousand times more than nice
things in the place you live, IMHO. I'm back from my weekend trip and here are my answers:
1. How many ceiling fans are there in your home? 2. One in the living room, one in our bedroom. I LOVE ceiling fans.
2. What kind of furniture do your kitties/doggies have? Are they living the life of luxury? Cassie (dog) has a bed in the living room and a bed in our room. The kitties have no furniture of their own, but they are living the life of luxury anyway. They use our couch, chairs, and bed as theirs and that works out just fine for them. We used to have a four-perch cat tree that sat in front of our French doors to the backyard. That was a pretty big hit, but we moved and have literally no room for it now.
3. Could your home be on Cribs? Do you have a giant tub, a huge TV, or other luxurious items? My home could not be on Cribs (which is a show on MTV [that I don't watch] that showcases the homes of ridiculously wealthy people, usually celebrities) but I love it anyway. It's an old house with hardwood floors and great character. Like Terri, I have some antiques which I adore. If it were up to me, I would furnish my house almost entirely in antiques (apart from the couches/chairs/beds). We did just get a new TV because our old one died, and it's pretty nice (42" LCD flat panel). I waited until it went on sale and we had the money saved up, though.
4. Do you have central AC, wall units, or nothing? We have central air. I am perhaps a bit spoiled, but I have to have AC of some kind. I prefer central but have had window units only. Sheila, I can't believe you live in Chicago and don't use your wall units! It can get pretty humid up there.
5. Do you have an outdoor space that you love? Garden, patio, porch, deck, etc. We have a nice sized backyard that we don't use much (except to let the dog out) but we sit on our front porch a lot. It's on the small side but there's room for a table and four chairs, and I love to sit and watch the world go by. When we lived in Cleveland, we had the best front porch EVER. I lived out there in the summer, either reading or playing cards or eating dinner. I miss it so much!
