First Successful Test, Question

So I’ve posted a few times already. New to things. I’m an overthinker as it is and just overwhelmed but so thankful for all the support and advice.
Winston just got diagnosed 2 days ago. They said they believe we caught it earlier on thankfully.
Today was the first day I have officially got to try the pricking BG check. This morning didn’t go well, he did great but I messed up and didn’t follow instructions so got an error. I just tested him successfully for the first time prior to his 3rd feeding of the day and got 180. I’m just happy I successfully did it. Human meter. Is this a good sign?

Just started all 3 of my cats today officially on the FF from hard food. He's not yet on insulin. (Lantus) Picking up the prescription tomorrow and also everyone suggested getting him on the FF for 3-5 days first.

Also I need some advice, like I said I’m switching all 3 of my cats to FF from previous free feeding. My 2 boys love it and that great cause Winston is the one that’s diagnosed. But my Chunky girl (15lbs) hasn’t eaten since last night. Shes being stubborn. I’ve tried mixing dry and FF. I’ve tried splitting them. No luck. Any suggestions?

Also I will officially be starting the SS tomorrow! It's been a lot with all this happening mid-week.

180 is good, a diabetic cat's glucose number is between 50-120, any other reason beside the food transition that you would not want to start insulin, your vet should start you on a low dose 1.0 units, is better to start slow, you want to see how the insulin works on Winston, the longer Winston stays without insulin and in high number the more the pancreas will damage
you transition by removing a tbs of dry for wet, and every feeding you remove more tbsp, it is important to test at least 1 hour after feeding while transitioning, since the removal of high carbs could alter the BG number to lower numbers, you should set a feeding schedule for all your cats, and with Winston, when you start insulin, soon I hope, no feeding two hours before shot, so not to alter the BG
