Fasting needed for blood work for phosphorous levels?

My sugar cat on Bexacat had a raised phosphorous in her last bloodwork. I read that it was probably due to the fact that she was not fasted. My vet never mentioned fasting. She is going back to have her levels tested in a couple weeks and I am considering switching to insulin due to her continued excessive thirst and peeing. Does anyone know if I should fast her this time and for how long? I don’t know how long she can go without eating.

I've never fasted for kidney bloodwork. This page talks about if you're having certain tests done it might make sense, but otherwise it doesn't seem like it's recommended for usual bloodwork. Of course this is just one source... see what the others think.
