viewtopic.php?f=24&t=28683&p=293182#p293182. THis is my post in PZI. She was over 500 the last3 nights and this morning (at +10) she was 64. An hour later she is 58. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Not many people on this morning, and it sounds like you want advice now. I would feed a little more low carb now- in small amounts so he doesn't get full and stop eating for you. Test again in 15 minutes. Do you have higher carb wet and Karo?
58 is not a dangerous number, but it is early. Did you give insulin this am? if so, how much? If you didn't give insulin, things should be okay, but he seems to peak really late so it is wise to keep testing.
Thanks for the response, Sue. I just tested her again and she is 55. I did not give her insulin this morning--her AMPS (which was at +10) was 64. THat was after am PMPS last night of over 500 ("HIGH"). I just fed her some ff beef with gray. I do have Karo. How low before I give it?
I wouldn't do anything other than food unless she drops to 40. Then I would do a little food with some karo mixed in.
What an interesting reaction to PZI. The good news is that she really reacts to it. The bad news is that she really reacts to it! You need some expert advice on dosage when she gets the next shot.
I didn't find any mention of whether or not you checked your meter to make sure it was working properly. Did you run a control on it to make sure that you are getting accurate readings?
Sound like your meter is okay. And it does look like this is a pattern. She goes high in the evening, maybe as a rebound as she goes lower during the day.
Great that she is headed up. It may be a reaction to the high food so you probably want to get a few more readings, just to make sure.
She is certainly a poster child for the need to home test. She is so lucky you are on top of things and keeping her safe.
