My cat Scratface went in for a glucose curve on Monday (16th) and I also asked the vet to look at his ears as they were bothering him. He cleaned them out as they were dirty and prescribed Canaural ear drops, 3-4 drops twice a day. The curve showed his BG was ok apart from a dip about 4 hours after his shot but he was given some more food and it returned to normal.
I did as i was told and administered the ear drops and his ears aren't bothering him now. On Thursday evening i noticed his eyes were dilated and not reacting to light so he went back to the vets on Friday. His blood pressure was checked and was normal as was his eyes to make sure they weren't showing signs of retinal detatchment and they weren't. I asked him about the ear drops and he said it wouldn't be them that was causing this problem and to carry on with them. He put it down to he maybe having had a hypo that was not seen. I'm not convinced of this as he always has food down and I have been keeping a closer check on him to make sure he's not showing hypo signs.
He seems fine, not exhibiting any unusual behaviours but his eyes still aren't normal. I gave him the ear drops friday night but have now stopped them as this is the only thing that has changed.
Has anybody had any similar problems? he's going to have to go back to the vets if there's no change by tomorrow but the vet was pretty stumped as to what caused it.
