Good afternoon!
I've been busy all day so I haven't had the time to post until now.
Last evening, after giving only 0.25, he went down a little but went back to above 400 but by the morning hadn't gone up all that much higher. Of course, he did get me at 3:00 AM so like an idiot I served the food, thinking that he would just eat it and it would be fine until the new testing/shot time of 6:00 AM. But I wasn't planning that he was just nibbling for at least an hour, so getting me back into the 2 hour no-feed zone. So, I gave the usual dose of 1 unit. Stopped briefly for lunch, did a +6 check and it was a nice 155. I am now home at 3:00 PM and he is quite hungry, so he's eating, and his +9 is down to 115!?!? Even though I left food out, it is obvious he hadn't eaten all day, and I'm sure it will definitely go up, but I feel I'm in a quandry. He is getting most of his insulin in the morning, gets beautiful numbers, but I fear that if I shoot the same amount in the evening he will plunge even lower. But not dosing is not an option, as he did get up to over 400. I keep having the feeling that he will wind up getting something like 0.75 units twice a day but I'm not sure what would be the best way to get there, or if that is something I should even try as opposed to keep doing what I'm doing. Thoughts?
