Wondering if anyone has experience with keto kibbles for mixed diabetic and non diabetic households? My diabetic is the only one who likes wet food (fancy feast chicken pate), but still lightly munches on the others free feed dry bowls to feel like part of the gang, so im looking for a dry food good for all.
 
The Fancy Feast is a great choice, but diabetic cats need a diet of wet can or raw food between 0-10% carbs (dry Matter carbs) most feed up to 5%, any kibble is normally very high in carbs as well as the "prescribed foods" there is no such thing they contain anywher3e from 24-430% carbs, and free feeding is not a good choice, a feeding schedule feeding 3-4 small meals or snacks plus the two main meals before each shot, the protocol is test-feed-shoot, most members use the ReliOn meter and strips or any human monitor, you do not need a pet meter, please read our sticky notes in our Main Forum there is much valuable information there, please keep posting 🫶
 
Dr. Elsey’s and Young Again are two brands that have lower carb dry foods options. There are others but I’d say those are the big two.
 
An alternative to dry food is freeze dried raw or air dried raw. These can be crunchy and are way healthier than dry food and are low carb. It's more expensive than the "good" dry foods so you may want to feed it just to the diabetic cat.

Some people use a microchip feeder for the non-diabetics who eat dry food.

My mum has a few cats on different diets, so she bought a couple PetLibro RFID feeders. The cats still all eat together but cant get into each others special food. PetLibro has worked well for my mum for a year or so but in the last few months they have been having a lot of outages and customer service problems. I've also heard good things about microchip/RFID feeders from SureFeed and PawsPik.

The keto kibble claims less than 5%carbs, over 60% protein. I just want to be sure its nutritionally complete for my other cats w/o diabetes too, because they prefer only dry food.
