Yes 3U. As long as you can monitor and have enough strips and higher carb food you have the tools to keep her safe
You can always carb her up before you leave, if needed.

Yes, I did an then had to leave but am back now. +1 was 126. I have to leave for an hour around +2.5 and will get another reading just before then, and maybe leave a small amount of higher carb food out depending on the number? Thank you so much for following up. Helps so much to have this support.

I have to leave before that. Realized +2.5 is when I need to be at my dogs vet appt. I just took another test, 158. I am going to leave her with her regular food and will test her again when home. Hopefully she will be okay.

I got home and she was at 176 at +3.5. And I can be home now so we should be good. Question, what do I do if a low AMPS like this happens on a day I have to go into work? Some days I have to leave after her AM shot and am not home until afternoon. Bhooma, THANK YOU so much for your help!!!
I don’t have a lot of flexibility on timing. I have to leave two mornings a week about one hour after her shot. I don’t have a timed feeder but I leave food out for her. I leave at about 7:15am and return at 1:30pm so always have time to remove her food for 2 hours before PM test.Looks like she is good for the day.
Do you have to leave soon after her AM shot? Do you have flexibility with her shot timings? Can you advance your shot time so you can get a +1 or +2 before you leave?
Do you use an autofeeder?
On the days you have to leave for work, can you shoot 30 mins early? That way, you can get a +1.5 before you leave and feed higher carbs, if necessary then. You can shoot at your usual time in the PM.
Thank you, I can make that work. And I forgot that I can ask my husband for some help too as he goes to work early too but can leave later than me some days. I just don’t trust him as much as myself, lol, even though he loves the cat tons and is willing to help.
That's great. If he can get a +2 on the days you have to go to work and get a lower AMPS, you can feed higher carbs then.
