I am about to get a sample of BCP(Bovine) PZI insulin. Has anyone had any good results with this insulin? In addition, what did you guys pay to get the insulin?
Yes, I've used a bovine PZI for almost 8 years (not the same PZI as yours but it's the same 'family').I think @Elizabeth and Bertie uses a bovine Prozinc-like insulin.

$50 I could def afford if that is the case. The BCP Pharmacy in Texas is where I got my VET to order the free sample for me. I believe its a 100mL sample. I really do pray it works wonders on Poopers to get his BG to the 90-100 range and stay that way for like 12 hours. The Novalin right now just isn't doing that anymore. A lady that works at my VET office said they usually only last for 30 days. She is kind of against me getting info from people on here. lol. Anyways, I hope it works on him since N only lasts him like 4 or 5 hours and some days giving him insulin doesn't drop his glucose that much. I know one day last week he went from 500s to the upper 100s in like 4 hours before going right back up again.I used bovine compounded PZI with Bob. He did really well with it. He went OTJ after 10 weeks. I paid roughly $50 which included overnight delivery from BCP which is in Texas. That was a 10ml vial of U40 PZI.
so the free sample bottle is 100 units then? So if his doses change to 1 unit a day then that'll last me hopefully a month. Would be nice though if he would only need 1 unit a day especially if this Bovine insulin closely resembles what a cat produces and therefore will work wonders on him to get his pancreas healed and enough so to keep his BG down slightly under 100 for most of the time. The free sample of BCP insulin is U100.
If you get U40 insulin later you can still use U100 syringes.
draw up in U100 syringe Units of U40 insulin
1/2 o.2
1 0.4
1 1/2 0.6
2 0.8
2 1/2 1.0
You don't have to buy the U40 syringes. If you have U100 syringes and get a U100 sample vial, you're good to go.I guess the thing that I don't understand is the U100 syringes which I have now from Reli-on have the half inch increment dosages. If he ends up getting 1 unit 2 times a day to start then why would I need to purchase U40 syringes?
