Kind of a dark (really dark) chocolate brown, and really, really runny. But no blood, luckily. Also stinks to high Heaven. I just got home, and my grandmother said Katie had another bout of diarrhea, with some slightly formed fecal matter... in the living room! She has never gone anywhere except the litter box (with the exception of when she was first being box trained).
Katie eats Merrick Cowboy Cookout. I put down one can (5.5 oz) in the morning and one can (5.5 oz) at night, of which she and Sassy share. Sometimes they polish it off within a couple hours, and sometimes they don't eat much of it. Also, if Katie asks, I put a 3.3 oz can out about 4 AM. Aside from the treats I give her at test time, this is the only food she eats. I even stopped giving her table scraps when she was diagnosed.
I have some Metronidozol that I didn't give Katie. Should I start giving it to her again? I stopped because she hates liquid meds, but if it's necessary, I'll start again.
They ran parasitology tests, to see if she had any parasites, but she didn't. I don't know if they did any other tests on her fecal. I don't think they did, because they didn't say they had.
Katie has never shown interest in eating plastic, so I doubt that's the reason.
But I AM worried. It's not healthy for her to have frequent diarrhea, is it? I worry about her getting dehydrated. And I hesitate to take her back to the vet, because her BG numbers freaked out for several days and are just now getting better.
Help, please!!!
