Hello,
I was here about 18 months ago, when Irie was first diagnosed with diabetes. for the first year, he appeared to respond well to the Lantis. In fact, we thought he was going into remission....he was down to 0.5 units twice a day.
Suddently, in February he started to exhibit all the symptoms of being out of control. We weren't doing blood checks just the monthly blood check at the vet. Sure enough, his BGC was over 500. We have steadily raise his insulin up to 3.5 units twice daily and he is showing no improvement. He is still loosing weight and drinking excessively.
Our vet even had us buy new insulin, thinking that our vial was too old. We have checked our injection technique and that's okay. She is suggesting we switch insulin.
We have done a 12 hour blucose curve a month ago and are about to do another one. Quitely frankly, I'm concerned.
