Thanks Peggy,
But we had a little help from the Bridge on finding each other, which is partly why she is named Musette. Venita called me about Musette exactly one year to the day that Muse earned her angel wings. Muse passed on June 1 2010 (the night of), and we laid her to rest the morning of June 2 at 10:30 am. Venita called me about Musette (Then named Angel) at 10:30 am June 2 2011. The night before Venita called me about the purebred Himalayan in danger of PTS, I had dreamt of Muse coming in and crawling in bed with Maxwell, Lady Jane Grey and myself. At the time it didn't even strike me as strange that Muse would be there with Maxwell and Lady Jane, which would have been impossible in life because neither of them were part of the family while Muse was alive. But there she was acting like she knew both of them and they were old friends. Muse just looked a little different, smaller and grayer almost like she was a moonlit version of herself. In the dream there was a song playing that I recognized (Jon is also a bass player for a classic rock band, so I'm familiar with a lot of older songs) It was Send Me An Angel. And not the version that was played to death on the radio back in the 80, This Send Me An Angel was much older by the Scorpions. Muse in the dream was purring and her purr sounded like there was a soft voice in it sort of like how you can almost hear voices in a running stream. It was saying to stop crying, she was sending me an angel and I would know the angel by her eyes.
The next morning Venita calls with I've got a purebred Himmie that is going to be killed if I can't find her a home....Do you want her? Her name is Angel, but she didn't know what she looked like yet, but Rhonda (Ginger's Foster Mom) was going to check her out and would get pictures. I waived for a little bit until I saw Angel's first pictures...She was the same moonlit version of Muse (smaller and grayer) but the one thing they both shared were their eyes...Musette has Muse's same aqua blue eyes. Now I have 3 other siamese, they all have very silvery blue eyes, Muse and now Musette are the only ones that have/had these pure sky blue eyes. Well that sealed the deal...Musette was mine.
Then several days later Venita sends me Musette's past vet records...Musette was born on Oct 25, 1999...I adopted Muse October 25, 2005. And since Musette has come to live with us, while I still remember Muse, and still miss her, I don't feel like she is missing, the gaping wound in my heart just seems to have disappeared. I can now look at pictures at Muse and not fall apart, the tears aren't just a heartbeat away at her memories, I can look back at our time together and smile now. I see a lot of Muse in Musette, little things in the way she carries herself, funny little things she does like patting my face when she wants me to wake up in the morning etc.
I would love to know what Musette's pedigree looks like, although I will never know that since I only have what I have on her vet records but I do know that Muse was a purebred, and that she was a show cat and was bred, that she had in her lifetime 9 daughters and Musette's age and birthdate would be in the time frame for her to possibly be in some way related to Muse. Unfortunately I have no way of ever finding out, as Muse's breeders die in Katrina, and well Musette's last owner I doubt would care to give me any information about her if they didn't care enough about Musette to try to treat her diabetes.
I've had a lot of Himalayans over the years but it just seems odd that these two are the only ones that I have ever seen with this color of blue eyes, I've had ones with sapphire blue, I've had ones with silvery blue, but only Muse and now Musette have had this aqua-blue like a summer sky. And both have/had diabetes, which can be an inherited disease. Just makes you wonder you know?
