Culturelle ingredient inulin

I would like to try Culturelle as a probiotic for Jake, and the product I found at Walgreen contains an ingredient inulin aka chickory root. Even though Jake is in remission from diabetes, is inulin safe for a diabetic cat?

Per this page, inulin, a polysaccharide, is not that digestible by humans so it may not be digestible by felines too. In humans it is considered a soluble fiber.

Thanks, Larry. I assume that if something is not digestible it doesn't get into the system? I never really got that - never thought about it really, but that would make sense.
