Hi all, well it was quite a day yesterday and I am feeling rather discouraged today.
Over the weekend I tried a mini curve with small meals throughout the day (Saturday 8/01) and another mini curve on 8/02 feeding only twice a day at AMPS and PMPS. Rupert had some high numbers on 8/01 even with a larger dose and yesterday I had issues with him throwing up after eating. I tried the smearing on a plate, taking away for 5 mins, but he still wants to devour it quickly. The throw up looked ok, nothing unusual, just an over eating issue. I have tested for ketones, so far no problem. I had to be away in the late afternoon and night yesterday, so I was about 20-25 mins late with PMPS. He held the food down for a bit, but did throw up again. Then I messed up shuffling food and he got into some dry kibble at +2 on PMPS.
I tested at +3 and his numbers had gone down some. I did not feed anymore that night. He was really high this AMPS, which I hope is due to the blasted kibble. I am going back to 4 feedings a day, he seems to do better with this schedule. Is it time to try 2 U? I gave him a 1.8 U this morning, but a little on the high side, closer to 2. I will be home, so will be taking some additional tests. Sorry this is so long winded, I am just confused about how high he is going, after upping his dosage even. He seems fine, not overly lethargic, eating fine, walking fine, etc. I can't seem to get this right and I am worried about how often he has high numbers. Any advice would be appreciated, I am feeling very discouraged today. (also have another sick kitty, hoping she just over ate yesterday, she ate her dinner and most of her brothers too, I usually don't allow that, but got distracted with Rupert
