Hi everyone,
sorry for keep posting and asking alot but I am really concerned about my cat and it seems that nothing is working here.
so she had a gum infection since January and they kept giving her Convenia which did nothing, three months later they ectracted 5 teeth and again gave her Convenia which again did nothing, I asked for second X- rays which shown that the ectraction is ckean with no root or anything but the infection reached the bone little bit ( seems that the infection is now on her lower gum where other teeth is ). So now the Vet prescriped Clidamycin 75mg and gabapentin 300 mg ( she told me to dessolve the capsule powder in water and give he 1ml twice daily) the taste is horrible. She was doing well on the first three days then i start the gabapentin on day 4 and 5, the day next she had a very sever vomitting which i di not know if it is from tha antibiotic or pain killer, I took her back to the vet for nausea shot and stomach relief, the vet told me to give the Clindamycin another try before change it because it is the best for bone infection. I start it again today after 2 days of rest.
I can not just watch my cat suffering from this infection and I do not know if it is Stomatitis or just infection, i read alot about stomatitis and how bad is it, as i read the teeth infection can damage pther organs such as kidney if not treate it well ( which i think caused her kidney value little elevated) , even after 5 days her gum still redness, the vet said that we need a little long time on antibiotic.
I asked her if a full teeth extraction will help, she said that we might end up to this but it is not an option now because she is diabetec and it is major surgery and the healing process for her will be slow because of her immune system as diabetic cat.
I am just scared watching her in pain and lethargic with less apetite.
dose Clindamycin upset the stomach??! Should I continue using it and could this be Stomatitis or it just can be normal infection , they did not treate it with wright atibiotic from the begining and now I am just worried, she looks weak and barley eat after the vomitting, but i gave to her again today with her meal and gave her some yougert after to help.
any suggestion please and help about the Clindamicin or Gabapentin side effect and how can i deal with it?
