GA Chuck is waiting for me at the rainbow bridge.

I had to let Chuck go today. His CKD progressed fast and he went downhill quick.
He ended up on 3.5 units of insulin. He only weighed 8 1/4 pounds (lost 2 pounds on two months). He stopped eating and his breathing was fast and labored.
My heart is shattered into a million pieces.
Hug and kiss your babies a little extra tonight.

Dear Steph, We are so sorry that it was Chuck's time. At the Bridge he will be "in good paws" with all of his GA friends until that wonderful day when you will be reunited, exactly like in the "Cat's prayer" .
Fly free, handsome Chuck! cat_wings>o You are much loved.

In deepest sympathy,
Ella & Edward, Rusty (GA) and Stu (GA)

cat_wings>oWe lost two fur babies in the last year and a half. Each one is a heartbreak, and a lot of tearful debate over whether it is time or not. A dear friend of mine, a vet with long experience, told me that if you are questioning whether it's too early, it's time. Better to let them go before the pain is too extreme.

I can't tell you how sad I am for your loss. I will hug my dear little sugar kitty extra tight tonight, and be even more tolerant of her imperious demands. One day, I will be glad I tried to make all her days good ones.

As you did for your lovely Chuck.

(((Oh Steph! )))))) I am so very sorry that it was Chuck's time to leave. It is never easy when we need to help them cross.

Sending lots of hugs to you and yours and comfort vines of peace. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

So sorry to hear this news Steph....and I totally understand the heartbreak you're feeling too with the recent loss of China.

I'm sure she'll be there to welcome Chuck as he starts his new adventure at the Bridge.

Fly free sweet Chuck and land softly cat_wings>o
I'm so sorry for your loss. :bighug:

:bighug: Thank you all for your kind words.
We thought there might be a chance to save him but he got worse at the vet. She loved him too. We cried together.

This is so true. I cried the whole way to the vet and feel like I've been crying since then.
We loved him and spoiled him. Especially since last night when we knew he was sick and not just hypo.
I keep looking for him out of habit. My civvie is looking for him. I honestly feel a little lost. I had a similar feeling after losing my other cat that had around the clock care for CHF.
I wish we could keep them longer. :(

CKD is so so hard to deal with, it took our three oldest in the course of 12 months, but all in non-diabetics. What a great job you did with Chuck having both.

I've always loved his pic -- what a handsome gent he was!

Our sincerest condolences :bighug:

I know. Forever and always ...innit.

I am so sorry Chuck has taken the final journey. He remains one very fine chap & I would love to see more pics of him when you feel able.
On top of loss it is also a rotten time of year to deal with that.

If I could sweep up your shattered heart and heal that pain I would.

Take care

M

Oh Steph, SO very sorry to hear about Chuck. I haven't been on the board consistently and I didn't
know you were dealing with CKD as well. It's so hard and seems we never have them long enough.
You and Chuck are in my thoughts tonight :bighug:

{{{Steph}}} I am so sorry it was Chuck’s time to earn his angel wings. :bighug::bighug::bighug: It can be so hard to look after a cat with multiple conditions. You did a wonderful job looking after him, but it can take a toll on the caregiver too. Take care of you too. Chuck would have wanted that.

It’s never long enough. cat_wings>o

I'm so sorry to read this sad news...I'm sure he's already catching his share of butterflies across the bridge...
take solace that the pain is all yours now...he has it no longer. Sending prayers and vines to help you heal:bighug::bighug:...I know how difficult this time is...we've all been there...cat_wings>o

Chuck was loved and knew the comfort of a great home. May your sweet kitteh fly freely and land softly at the Bridge, waiting for you there.cat_wings>o

I'm so sorry. It's always a devastating thing to have to do. You did everything you could to save him, but sadly, sometimes it's just not possible.

Oh Steph, I am so sorry it was Chuck's time to leave you. My heart aches for the pain you are feeling right now. Sending you many hugs and vines of love, comfort, and peace. Fly free sweet boy. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

So hard to let them go...such heartache, and we all feel it with you. I think Chuck and Tiny could be siblings...what a handsome fellow, that Chuck. I am so very, very sorry for your loss. Please take very good care of yourself and be kind to yourself too. We all try so hard to keep them healthy and do all we can for our kits, and you were no exception, Steph. Much love and peace to you.

I'm sorry for your loss of your beautiful kittyman. It hurts so much to go through this. Thank you for sharing the slideshow tribute.:bighug:

Few words StephG. Just empathy and mucho sympathy. All the BS I get mad about falls away when I have multiple cats and my own health worries to juggle. I don't know who is more fortunate, the lovely cats or I who take care of them and they of me. Peace.
