bsmith: Little wild creatures!

Has anyone used Yesterdays News litter? It's made of old newspapers so environmentally friendly! Any observations?
Best wishes,

Well unfortunately, well maybe fortunately because of the price lol, I dont see that big of a difference between Boxie & Elsey. I have been using it now for almost 2 weeks and the only difference that I see is it is smaller granules then Elsey which in turn leads to less tracking but not by much. With it being finer it seems "cleaner" but with clumping it doesnt seem much better, mayyyyyyybe slightly but not enough for the cost difference. I will be buying Elsey from now on.

I am still using and loving the Boxie Cat litter and do see a difference between Elsey Cat Attract litter and this. Boxie is a little less dusty and I am using far less of the Boxie because it clumps tighter so it uses less content. I was up to a box and a half of Cat Attract per week where I am only using one bag per week of the Boxie. I do not have to scrape the sides nor spray the sides so I don't have to scrape the sides either so I have discarded the putty knife. I am still a fan of this litter.

Thats what I love about the Boxie Cat. It doesn't stick to the sides (Katie pees in the corners or on the sides no matter how full or big the box), the clumps stay on top...all without a "clumping" agent. It's all natural so I feel like it's better for the kitties than Elsey's.
Elsey's is like frigging cement, hated to scrape it off the box, and always worried about the small amount the girls are bound to ingest cleaning themselves.
Even scrubbing the boxes is easier now. I was so thrilled when I found this litter...honestly.

After reading the recommendations on this thread for BoxieCat, I decided to give it a try, as Hannah also pees on the sides of the pan. I do like BoxieCat for the same reason... it doesn't stick to the pan and I don't end up scraping with an old pancake turner. I'm also not a big fan of spraying the kitty pan with cooking spray. I haven't really noticed that BoxieCat is less dusty, but the smaller granules definitely don't seem to track outside of the pan quite as much as our other litter, FreshStep. That stuff tracks everywhere.

I just ordered BoxieCat today too. I'm fed up with scraping Dr. Elsey's putty off the sides of the pan! Can't wait to make the switch. I'm also going to purchase all new pans and get a fresh start. I hope the kitties agree with the changes. :)

I hope you will like it. I just ordered another bag, this morning, too. For me, it definitely eliminates the 'putty' problem. Getting new pans is always a good idea, as after a while, old pans get all messed up after so much scraping, thus making them harder to clean. They also harbor a certain amount of bacteria, and that's not good, either. Let us know what you think about the BoxieCat. We hope Colby gives it his approval! :cat:

BoxieCat is wonderful! I purchased a huge open-type litter box and notice little dust. Love that fact! My kitten visitors like it, too. One of them loves Perfect litter! I like Boxie Car for its lack of dust but dislike how heavy it is. PerfectCat is very light weight but messy!
