Hi
I'm new here, and I just tried to post and I am not sure where my post went.
Our kitty, Samson (Sammy) was diagnosed 2 weeks ago. Put on Lantus incilin at 3 units and the DM Canned food. Things were going fine the first week, then Sammy had an episode and went into convolutions, it was horrible. We had to race him to the emergency clinic, then the next day to our vet. He almost died. They told us that he was probably in remission. We stopped giving him any insilin because even at 1 unit he had a severe reaction. He is now just on the DM food. We have another cat also eating the DM food - Jewel - she is non diabetic. The cats don't really like this food. I have been reading on the internet about Fancy Feast Classic and that it is a good economical food to feel diabetic cats.
I would love some feedback on this brand of cat food. I live in Canada so this food is available for me to purchase. I am concerned about changing Sammy's diet, but it is not fair to either cat to not be able to enjoy eating. Sammy is also a big cat, he has been overweight in the past. He lost 4 pounds when he was taken to the vet when we had concerns that he was sick. He will urinating constantly filling the little box.
If someone can let me know if Fancy Feast has been a good brand for their cats, I would appreciate it.
Thank you
Leslie
