She does it when we are using the toaster oven. Is she in pain??
let me know what you think
She will come to the toaster when we turn it on. It is adorable, but was hoping she wasn't in distress. I have looked up chirping, but it's usually with birds or bugs. Never toaster ovens lol. Or hurting her ears?Is he near the toaster oven when this happens? It is kind of adorable, lol, as long as she's not in distress.
he did a little grooming and back to sleep. Figured he would understand what she was chatting better than me.I have seen some studies that have suggested she might be calling to the prey. Mimmicking the sound. It's very curious. If she only does it when the toaster oven is on, I would guess it's the sound. Cat's hearing is very sensitive, twice as sensitive as a dog's. They can hear a mouse footsteps. Perhaps there is a high pitched hum (that you don't hear) that annoys her.
I know what you meanI am glad of the consensus. Me and my husband find it adorable, but can never be too sure with these puddy tats!

If she come to the area when you use the toaster, then I doubt it's causing her distress. There's probably something about the sound or frequency that she likes, in which case, I must say, you may be the only person in the world whose kitty talks to a toaster oven, lol!![]()

lol that made me giggleShe actually woke up from her nap to come "talk"to the toaster. My girl kitty makes sounds something like this when she's waking up from a nap. If I talk to her during one of these episodes she chirps back and it continues until she's fully awake.
That's hilarious! She actually woke up from her nap to come "talk"to the toaster.

Growing up we had a cat, Elmo, that would do that if you coughed too much. Could get her to do it by just taking in a deep breath or gasping. She would do it with the phone if it rang too long. She was a silly girl. She lived to be 18 years old.
