Good Morning L & L ~

Trying not to stress over the AM and +4 reading as he had a hairball throw up prior to the AMBG but I didn't expect the + 4 to still be blue. Yesterday his poop was a bit on the dry side so I am hoping this is a bit of constipation. Hoping to see green by PMBG's

Vines to all Beans and Kitties in need .

Don't panic Bobbie!! It will be fine... he'll come back down and those numbers still aren't too bad. These kitties just like to keep us on our toes, that's all.
Sending hugs to you and Bubbs!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Was just wondering if this may be helpful for Bubba. Its from another condo from this week. It's about cats comiting hairballs and having constipation and what can help. Julie had good success treating this with a specific probiotic and also a little ground flax.

You might want to look at these links from the Where Can I Find? thread:
Digestive Problems:
Constipation, Maggie11 & Ann; Feline Constipation
Hairballs/Chronic Vomiting
Probiotics in IBD (or other) cats

We've had excellent luck with our 2 cats that tend to be constipated by following the probiotic suggestions on the last link. One of my cats, McGee, is a short haired tuxedo boy who was vomiting daily and severely constipated. I thought he was having hairballs until I read the link about chronic vomiting & hairballs. I realized that I wasn't always even seeing hair in the vomit. Then I read the link on probiotics. I started McGee on a probiotic, working from a small amount up to an entire capsule once a day over the course of a couple of weeks. Then he got 1 entire capsule per day for 2 weeks. I tapered him down to one capsule every other day. We bought the Renew Ultimate Colon Care 80,000 cfu brand - there are others mentioned on the links above as well.

We also give him one very tiny sprinkle once a day of ground flax seed (Spectrum brand - you want a people quality flax seed). Start small and work up in amount so you're just giving the right amount. Too much will cause diarrhea.

Between those two things his constipation and the vomiting are both gone.

Many people have good success just giving plain canned pumpkin or squash for their cat's constipation. Punkin wouldn't eat it, but many seem to like it.

Thx! I will check it out. :)

Much better number tonight! ...and Mandarin still throws me an occasional blue (see last night, for example). Not sure why, but I keep telling myself to not freak out as long as the next one is green.
Thanks for that Christina and I checked out Mandarin's SS and that makes me feel so much better. The trial is very anxiety producing. I need to keep it in perspective: if he is feeling good, all is good.

You've got this, Bubba!

Bobbie, don't worry about that +4. It wasn't THAT blue and the occasional blue isn't a big deal. Marshmallow gave me some blues sometimes but as long as the majority of the tests are green and there wasn't an upward trend, I didn't worry about it. Bubba better be in spring training for Mouse Catching Duty! ;)

oh that hairball was trying to throw a monkey wrench in your plans for freedom Bubba but you shut that down and went back to those greens!!! So close little dude almost time to party and feel the wind in your fur once more!!:bighug::bighug:
