Hello Bartholomus was diagnosed 12/12 but I was only able to get his lantus Wednesday the 23rd, and we are only through 3 cycles. Haven't started spreadsheet yet but here are numbers:

12/24 13:45 practice with Relion platinum 389
12/23 19:15 473
19:40 1unit
+3 285
+6 310

12/25 7:52 373
8:16 1unit
+3 339
+6 342

20:18 407
21:03 1 unit
+3. 402

Woke up 8:25 to test, it was complete unsuccessful nightmare, then someone came with a truck @ 9:15 to clear out from the flooding that happened here in Washington and Bartholomus has been hiding since. He us terrified of trespassers. Once he comes out, can I try again? Is it too late?

Hey, sorry, I'm just a bit confused. Why are you thinking of skipping? Because you weren't able to test?

It's hard to offer advice without more information about your cat overall - for more informed help, please set up a spreadsheet and your signature ASAP. There are multiple factors involved in offering advice about your cat, and a lot of people (most, really) are just not going to feel comfortable without having sufficient background information.

That said, going purely off what you have here, I wouldn't skip a shot. It's hard when you don't know your cat's BG, and with only three cycles to go on it's impossible to feel really accurate about any kind of prediction, but you're seeing almost uniformly high numbers. The odds that he's too low to shoot seem miniscule.

It sounds like you're very off your planned schedule. If you do shoot now/more than an hour late, you will need to work your way back into your preferred times incrementally over the next few cycles. (I am really not sure of the implications of late shooting vs. skipping a dose, especially without more information!)

Note - I am pretty new and my advice should be taken with a large grain of salt. Please fill out your signature and set up a spreadsheet as it will make it much more likely that you will get more advice.

Also, since this is a major holiday week for many users, this post by one of our veterans suggests crossposting to the Main Feline Health Forum if you need urgent/fast assistance.

It's also very useful to use the "?" prefix (if you're editing your top post or making a new thread, it's the dropdown right next to the Thread Title box). People scan quickly through the forums, especially at busy times or when they don't have much time to be here, and are more likely to see the prefix and respond.

If you need help/have questions about the signature/spreadsheet/using the forum, I can probably help and will try to check back.

Hi, it was mostly because of how late it was (an hour and a half late) and because I wasn't sure if he would even eat because he was hiding..but he had come out quicker than I thought, and started eating so I was actually able to give the shot. It was super late, I don't know the numbers but like you said they are high and he will likely be bumped up after 7 days. I will sneak the times back up so we can get back on track.

Hi Rebecca! Don't be surprised if they move your post to the main forum. They like for folks to post there first and until they get their spreadsheets/signatures set up. Here is the link for setting things up in case you need it: Sticky - New? How You Can Help Us Help You!

We don't use clock times here because we are all on different time zones. So you'll have a shot time and then you'll use +1, +2, etc., from shot time (as you've referred to above).

How far are you from your shot time now?
