Just to catch you up....
Fred is my sugar cat (Avatar to come when I can make the pic smaller -- more things to worry about just now!)On the 12th, we (Fred & Bella & I) lost our dear Lucy-Fur (15.4 yrs) to kidney failure. She was Fred's best friend.
On the 13th, we go a huge snow and, as it melted, it crashed all around the house, sending Fred and Bella under beds.
He's been stressed with all the changes and confusion from his usually-calm life. He's 12.6 years old and was diagnosed in 2009.
I test and shoot at home, but was told by my vet to just do a "test day" once a month and decide on insulin (ProZinc) dose from there. She doesn't recommend changes doses every day -- or even very often. She feels his body should get used to one dose.
For the past few months, I've been giving 2.5u (100/syringes) Am/Pm. He's usually around the low to mid 200's on Test Day.
When he began to show stress, I came back to the board and was told to test during the day when possible (I work part time). His numbers are here for you to see. (Want to change name of chart, but that will have to wait, too.) The other forum said I should come here for more specific advice. I've been told that Fred is "bouncing", which sounds bad to me, but you may be able to help with MY
stress, as well.
Fred was scheduled for a routine vet visit for blood work, but I can't put more on him right now, so I'll wait until things calm down.
Any advice would be appreciated.
