Hello,
I am following up with an updated SS for Boo the outside cat after his low blood sugar readings on 08/25/2013. He has not had any insulin since 08/25/2013 am when he got 5 units Prozinc in am which cause very low blood sugar readings early on after the insulin. His preshot glucose 08/26/2013 was up at 141 as I was told it would be but no insulin was given as this was the rebond bounce. I have taken away all dry food and only feeding him FF classic wet food which he is tolerating well. The first few days he seemed like he was starving. I am giving him 2 cans in am and 2 in pm which he seems to be ready for when I feed him. Not sure if this is too much??? His numbers look very good so far and he is acting very good. So far, 5 days of no insulin. I am testing his glucose levels before feeding in am and pm. Should I also be testing at other times during the day after feeding??? If he is able to get OTJ-how often should he be tested??? Keeping his paws crossed that OTJ is in our near future. His next vet visit is mid September at which time he will be weighed again. Any information would greatly be appreciated.
