It doesn’t actually have to be in 15 minutes or even 30 minute intervals but it can act like a decrease if done all at once. Excellent question. I meant to write that when I got back from my walk. I think it’s more necessary when shooting early. Feel free to shot at your desired time in the morning.

Yes...don’t have to get up in the dark. Reminds me of going to work so 8 will be better. I should test him tonight though. You think once is enough?

I was going to ask you all with black-eared cats if you tested on the inside? I have a hard time seeing the blood on the outside with his dark ears.

I tested Saoirse's ear on the furry side. Are you using a thin film of Vaseline or Neosporin ointment to help the blood droplet bead up? Also, it helps for the testing spot to be well illuminated (or maybe use one of those headband torchy thingummy wossnames?).

That's a great idea to use a headlamp. I turn on every light in the room and still have trouble seeing. My phone flashlight would be perfect if I had more hands. Yes, a friend on FB had a video showing her testing and she put vaseline on her cats ear. She's the person that directed me to the FB Feline Diabetes group and they suggested I join here as well. I using the Neosporin. It works great. Blue's ears don't bleed much. What did you all use to heat the ear? I've been rubbing them and still have problems. Thinking about maybe making a small rice sock. Just don't want to burn him.

I can probably stay up. I'll retest then and if he's dropped again I can give him some PureBites. He's been begging for a treat but I've been scared to give him anything.

Just tested again and he's up just a little to 301 +4. I'm heading to bed but will check back in shortly to see if I need to do anything more. I'm going to skip the treats since it's a little higher.
Changed my mind. He looked so cute and they all got a few treats. PureBites for Blue and the others got Instinct 24% carbs...lol won't make that mistake again.
