He ate but not a lot. I will set my alarm and retest. I'm beat. Thanks for being here. Giving him .75 insulin now. Thanks.
If it's low at +3 I will feed him just a little of the 13% but only if he's under 100. Is that good?

That’s good but you can give him lc if he’s in the 200’s at +3. If 100’s mc. Think about trying to start shooting at 7 instead of 8. Also maybe consider a timed feeder so you can sleep.

I have 6 cats that have to eat when Blue eats I'm afraid. I'm now at 10:30 -11:00. What do you mean by 1c or is it lc and mc?
OMG Lost track 5 cats and Blue.

Hey there, Patty and Elise. :)

What a long day for the pair of you. Elise, you're an absolute star! :bighug:

I hope ye both got some bit of decent rest for yourselves.

Looks a bit bouncy. Similar to what he did on yesterday's AM nadir and PMPS.

I'm thinking it has to be +11 because I didn't give him insulin until 10:30-11 last night...hopelessly off schedule again. I will retest for AMPS.
Elise is wonderful. She's been helping me for days. I'm supposed to go to another forum today so will I see you both over there? I'm so confused by this and exhausted. :banghead:

Good morning. Yes a bounce and he earned that reduction. It can take up to 6 cycles to clear but doubt it will take that long. See you at the Lantus forum. I’m sure Mogs and JT will visit you there. They have been wonderful orienting you to FD.

I can test again maybe 6:00 since I fed at 4:00? I wish now I had tested before I fed him. He seemed to feel better today and his dose is lower. I'm still at .75 at your suggestion.

+6 looks like a good plan, as Elise suggested above. You can always check before that if you are concerned about anything. Elise and myself are keeping an eye on your thread so shout if you need anything.

Yes. Post at +11 just in case he’s still going down. If you feed him and didn’t test know that it takes 20-30 minutes for the food to have an effect. It looks to me like he will not drop much more but he could surprise us. Your dose now will remain at .75 unless he drops under 90. We reassess otherwise around 7 days at this dose. If he at any time drops under 90 he would get a reduction to .50. Please don’t feel afraid to post whenever and wherever you choose. Even if you decide to stay here I encourage you to look at some of the condos there and spreadsheets too as you can learn from them.

Yes, I am checking them out. I'm exhausted today but have read some material today and will continue that. I just need to learn more and feel more comfortable with what I'm doing for Blue, as well as my others. The multiple feedings of everycat with various foods has been such a challenge. Plus two got diarrhea so have had to figure that out. Maybe the new higher protein food for Blue I'm thinking.

I will test again before feeding him. I'm thinking it will be 9:30 because I got delayed again. It'll work. :)

Deep breaths. You don’t t have to learn it all at once. There’s so much to learn. If he’s on his way back up you can shoot up to 1/2 hour early and it won’t effect his bg. It’s hard managing so many cats with different needs. I’ve never had more than two and it was hard feeding different foods. I had to be with each to get them to eat so had to close tgem off from each other. One had lymphoma and the other was Max who had blocked once and his bladder had burst. Well actually the vet pierced it. Go slow. No need to read now.

He was only 5. He didn’t urinate at night or in the morning. I rushed home from work in the afternoon to find him in distress. Rushed to the vet. Had to see one I didn’t know. I was sent to the ER for the weekend. When I got there they rushed him to tge back and asked if anything was mentioned about a pierced bladder. The vet hadn’t and didn’t call to let them know I was coming. Surgery by my vet the next day. It was touch and go for a week. He was a fighter. Lived to 19.

A number of members here have recommended the probiotic saccharomyces boulardii to help with diarrhoea. A starting point for info is here:

    ibdkitties.net - Probiotics

Jarrow S. Boulardii + MOS (one of the products I've seen recommendations for here).

That sounds frightening. How did the vet pierce his bladder? He must have been a fighter to live to 19. I had one that had blockage and it's scary. ER saved him but at least no surgery, thank goodness.

I have tried 3 different probiotics and the last one was working and then I had to change food. I am trying to separate and give the old dry food to the cats with diarrhea. Hope it works. I'll check out the site and product just in case this doesn't work. Thx.

My first boy got blocked after we had just moved house. At 11:30 at night I drove him the 60 miles to our excellent vet. He underwent emergency catheterisation and thankfully that did the trick. It was one of the longest car journeys of my entire life.

He had a phenomenal second in his corner. ;) :bighug:

The vet pierced his bladder trying to unblock him. Then took an X-ray and said she could barely see the bladder. I found out when I transported him to the ER. It was a Friday night and at the time the office wasn’t open on weekends. Two mikes away but with traffic it took me 50 minutes to get him to the ER which s a few blocks away. That vet is not allowed to come anywhere near my animals.

@tiffmaxee - Should Patty get a +2 test before bed, Elise? It's the lowest PMPS Blue has had to date.
