I didn't until now. Should I have at +1?
Is there a max drop rate where I need to give a snack?
The trouble is you don't know what the drop rate is going to be in advance. You have to trial things to see what will help. Also one needs to look back at previous cycles to see what was fed when (hence the need for good food notes in the spreadsheet).
Thinking about the pendulum analogy, if Blue starts high and has a big, fast drop then, based on his patterns and observations of other bouncy cats, he's more likely to bounce high and fast in the latter part of the cycle.
My head's not in a state to do the thinking needed to try to put any numbers to the suggestions (sorry!). The gist of what I'd try would be roughly along the lines of:
1. If rise seen at +1, don't feed. Test at +2.
2. If +1 same as PS, don't feed but test again at +1.5.
3. If small drop seen at +1, feed LC snack. Test at +2.
4. If moderate drop seen at +1, feed MC snack. Test at +1.5.
5. If substantial drop seen at +1, feed HC snack. Test at +1.5.
6. If very big drop seen at +1, feed larger HC snack with a drop of honey. Test at +1.5.
Similar drill at +1.5 and +2 (and possibly +3) as appropriate. Make copious notes.
Then maybe no HC after +4 and no MC after +5 (unless the particular cycle demands they be fed for safety, e.g. when steering Blue through a low or needing to raise him back into safe numbers if he were to dip below the 50 mark).
All of the above are served with a huge side of trial and error, and subject to change at any time. (This is Blue we're talking about!
