I didn't know if I should post this in LL or not, but you guys helped me so much with him when he was dx'd last september. He went OTJ really fast. In 6 weeks he was in remission, and he still was when he passed despite still eating LC dry food. His BG was 99 last saturday and we helped him go to the bridge early last sunday morning.

He'd been wheezing and had him at the vet saturday. He had x rays and nothing showed in his lungs. We thought he had a URI and Dr. P wanted to do a steroid shot but I wouldn't let him. We decided on the aerokat with inhalers instead. It didn't help at all and he got a lot worse early sunday morning and we took him to the ER vet.

They took him back immediately and put him in oxygen. That didn't help either and he was gasping so hard we decided to let him go. I was going to do the steroid shot at that point, but he said it would take 6 to 8 hours to take effect and I couldn't make him wait that long.

My regular vet called me on monday after he got the paperwork from the ER. Apparently the ER vet had a look down Beeker's throat post mortem and his airway was closed to 1-2 millimeters. That's why he was having problems breathing in and out, not just in. He thinks there was some sort of tumor or growth pushing into his larynx. That makes sense, because his voice had changed and gotten scratchy in the past few months. They think the steroid wouldn't have helped anyway.

Thank you all for all your help. Because of you guys I was able to have many more precious months with my baby boy all full of great memories I'll never forget.

I'm so sorry, (((Terra))). You gave him a good life, and he knew he was loved very much.
