Yes! I said that a long time ago....something needs to be a different colour!if the plunger was red or the lines were red to see a contrast. I should patent these ideas lol.
I know, right??? You should go for the patent and that will help you recover all the Sugar Dance and Acrocat expenses. You know where you can promote your red plunger syringes......Why don't they make a skinnier syringe for microdoses? Also, I think it would be easier to judge amounts if the plunger was red or the lines were red to see a contrast. I should patent these ideas lol.
As long as you are don't have defective colourvision, 6% of the male population is colourblindAlso, I think it would be easier to judge amounts if the plunger was red or the lines were red to see a contrast. I should patent these ideas lol.
Sorry about the AMPS, we can all relate to how you are feeling.Yesterday
Good Morning!
Not happy to see a 177 this morning. I can give her the micro dose, what are we thinking? .25 unit? How often should I pull numbers today?
HA! Said from our resident eye doc! And about 89 % of all males have refrigerator blindness : "honey , where's the Orange Juice?"As long as you are don't have defective colourvision, 6% of the male population is colourblind![]()

You probably got some in. Lantus is a gentle insulin and brings the numbers down slowly. The onset of it's effect is usually around +2.Ok so before I left the house I got a +1 and it was 177. I just got another when I got home at +3 and we are at 133 I wonder if maybe I really didn't get any insulin at all in the syringe. I filled to 1 unit and then pressed most back in.
As others have said, you may need to wait and see what happens as the depot fills.Ok so before I left the house I got a +1 and it was 177. I think I would check her at +5 or there abouts.I'll check her again in afew hours
Yes I did give her a snack before bed last nightSorry about the AMPS, we can all relate to how you are feeling.
Paws crossed the itsy bit of insulin works wonders for Aurora.
Did Aurora get a snack at +9 last night?
I think starting with a +2 is a good plan, and maybe a +6, (you may need to test more frequently in the early part of the cycle, if that +2 shows that she is dropping significantly, just in case she has a marked response to the insulin)
Yeah, I'm going to leave her alone for the rest of the day unless you all think I need to get in another test yet. Doesn't seem like things are changing much today yet. I feel like I can see the .5 clearly on the syringe, maybe .5 is better so at least I know I'm getting that amount into her accurately? I'll do the PMBG around 545pm and see where we are at. If I have to give another micro dose, I'd like to stick to the 12 hours apart and give that at 615pm.Since she has gone up, if you can, I would try to catch a nap or go shopping or whatever you need to do.
Personally I would continue with the .25 for a few days.Yeah, I'm going to leave her alone for the rest of the day unless you all think I need to get in another test yet. OkI'd stick to that .25 dose too. The rise at +5.5 may have been a liver response to the extra insulin it sensed...if you throw in too many variables, you'll not be able to narrow down anything. The dose doesn't have to be exactly .25 - just make them consistent.
You ALL are the best thank you for putting my mind at ease! All of us that use/have used micro-dosing understand 'it didn't feel like I gave anything'!But you did...her body knows it.
Typically, +6 is nadir, but that can vary. Every cat is different... *sigh*What would be the time?
here's something you can do to know that you did shoot something?
take an old syringe. insulin is best but I know you don't want to waste it....
so using water....load to 1 unit.
Hold the syringe needle pointing upward and using both hands, twist the plunger until one drop beads up and rolls down the needle.
Countinue doing this, and count the drops until nothing comes out.
Many of the syringes will have 10 -12drops but they aren't all the same so it's good to know how many drops are in your brand of syringe for 1 unit.
You are probably giving at least 2 drops....
Because of the syringes I had, when I got down to .25 u.....
I found that I had nothing coming out of the syringe at all..... and I actually had to add a drop so I knew she was getting something.....
Okay! My mind is mush todayYou did do a nadir today, it's just with the depot, it went from empty to just starting to have some insulin in it, each dose adds a little to the depot and it builds.
I would keep this dose for a couple more days.
I'm going to get another in 30 minutes then I'll feed her and off to bed. Aurora is now obsessed with the rad cat raw food, she begs for that over the canned.I'd get a before bed test because the+2 is tge sMe as the pmps s I think you will see some action. Then you can feed or leave food out or do both depending on the number.
