I'm going to see if I can insert the chart I made of his amPS numbers, but since they show a steady climb in numbers and I have been steadily increasing his dose, now I am giving just .1u. Just gave the 3rd shot at that dose. This was his dose early on, so I am hoping the numbers will come back down. Paws crossed for him.

Nice graph Sheila...it certainly does look like he maybe rebounding.

But just to throw out another possibility...maybe he does have a low grade infection?

That could explain the highs and the dips to the lows, couldn't it? I mean if he really doesn't need to be on insulin, then the small amount you are giving him is bringing him low and competing with the infection and causing the swings. What do you think?

Well, that experiment was a dismal failure. He was in the 300s for two days. I could not let that go, so back to previous dose of .5u and will be raising from there I guess. He has also been drinking and peeing a lot (and I just realized I missed a perfect opportunity to get a ketone test from the puddle in the "drip" pan I have under the litter box).

You know me, i love data and especially raw data converted into graphs (the geek that i am)! The phase lines with the dosage is fabulous and it helps to give a complete picture - really nicely done Sheila!!

So, i'm going to be the one marching to a different beat here and you are a hell of a lot more knowledgeable than i, but i'm thinking it's not rebound and he may actually need a dose increase. The .5u with a systematic increase will give us some answers for sure.

Again, nicely done on the graphing. Wish i could give you the same great advice you always give me. -M
