anger and frustration

I spoke to my vet at length today. She does not care my cat died. She "apologized I was unemployed"
A lesson to us all. They just want our money. They do not care about your cat! I called our local news vecause I was so upset. They said we cant report it.
My cat was all I had in this world. I lost my last girlfriend, she was deaf.
every time I turn around my life is going bad

Ed, I'm so sad and sorry that you lost your cat. I can see from your earlier thread that you stepped right up and did everything you could to try to get him well.
I am also sorry that your vet was unsympathetic, it seems like in your earlier posts you were dismayed that the vet was not more concerned with your cat's symptoms. I know exactly how that feels. I wish I could offer better words to help you with your grief.

Im sorry you are going through this .. but to have a vet that is not sympathetic .. well, why even go into that field? Nevermind .. won't get into that .. just want to say I am sorry for your loss ... and while it seems everything is going wrong right now, it will get better in time .. I would follow the links that Sue posted and go from there ...

(((Ed))) I am so very sorry. It sounds like this was a cat other than your male diabetic Bally. May she fly free. wings_cat

Ed you know what sucks here is that the medical field of any kind (human or animal) is both a business and a passion, in the best case scenario.
Even if she could not help you because she was not able to work without getting paid it would seem that common human decency would be natural for any caring individual.
Many of us are unhappy with our vets seemingly uncaring attitude.
2 years ago when I had chemotherapy my oncologist could be soooo insensitive it made me just tear up.
Maybe they are all just burned out...or too accustomed to seeing patients as just another number.
It's not a perfect world.
We here at FDMB are what the entire medical field should be like.
And I hope you'll take anger and frustration and turn it around to join the truly good, decent, animal loving and respecting crowd. You belong here with us. Even if you just hold a newbie's hand until experienced help is on it's way. You remember how important that was.
That is caring. Just take a read at the thread above with a heart on it with a person not sure she can afford or do the work of caring for a diabetic cat. That is what it's all about.
Blessings,
Lori

Ed, I second Lori's opinion...please stay here with us. You can always welcome the newbies and have empathy for the fear and worry they all have after hearing their kitty is diabetic. Also, you will be surrounded by people who understand your grief and anger and will never think "it was just a cat."

I hope to see you continuing to post here.

I am so sorry for your loss, so sorry for the attitude of your vet. that alone breaks my heart, I wish you well, and hope that somehow your vet will see the error of her ways.

I am so sorry that you are going through this Ed :( Please know that the vast majority of vets are NOT like this, you are very unfortunate to have one who is so unkind. Hugs

Jen
