Last night we went to the vets ( for check up, her weight as risen .5kg and he said it was good her drinking less) and told him thaat Katys blood have been around 21-25mmol in the morning to night. We told him that if her blood that we increase her insulin to 0.5 unit depends where she is. He said to raise it by 0.5 (her max would be 3.5 if she keeps where she is). When we tested her blood last night at 7pm ( hour after coming home from the vets) her blood was 9.5mmol (we gave her 2units).
This morning she was 21.4mmol (gave her 3.5 units) she wasnt fed straight away but she did have food left over from last night. When we got up she was given wet and hard food but only ate the wet. She vomited the biscuits up (just biscuits and water). She then hide beind the sofa. She came out about 1 1/2hr later and i tested her blood. She was 3.4mmol. I offered her some treats - she refused.i gave her a tiny bit of manuka honey on my finger (how much are you suppose to give ??????) she then excepted the treats (these are hard food biscuuits from M&S - i know there hardfood but surely it'll raise her up???. And its the only treats that she has ever liked and only started to eat them 1 month before being diagnosed). She then ate some wetfood ( Sainsburys 1 portion) and seemed fine, settled and slept. Just now i tested her blood has gone down to 3mmol, again more honey was given though this time she was more responsive and didnt really want it ( alittle more than b4, more treats and usual sheba wet food given - ate about 1/2)
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Many Thanks
