Advice about handling vets

My vet had me send in a curve from the other day (he was looking pretty good, as he was blue all day) and she told me to decrease him to 1.5 units and that he might be going into remission (she had him at 3 in her files. She increased way to quickly back in July and that's when I started following TR with advice from here. We are currently on 4 units of Lantus) Obviously, I know that's way too fast and way too soon, as he's just started showing better numbers this week. I guess my question is: how do people handle their vet when they aren't necessarily following their advice?

Also, I'm scared for him to dip too low because I'm not home to monitor during the day, so even though I know green is good, it stresses me out!

I'd just be upfront and tell them. This is where we are, this is what we're doing and why we're doing it. THEN have the discussion.
If the numbers are good, how you got there really shouldn't matter.

I had to put my foot down with my vet this week to change insulins. Was he a little miffed, yep. Do I care, no.
While I pay for their 'professional' guidance if it doesn't make sense or isn't working they're going to get pushback.
