Oh sure. Many times. It’s mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausting to serve as wingman to a pet going through a difficult medical journey. We are loyal and committed, but it’s not an easy or free ride for us. It takes awhile to recover and regain our footing.
Take a deep breath. Then another. And allow yourself to enjoy the snuggles the kitten is offering and to laugh at the antics. Both will be healing to your soul. They say time heals, but sometimes time plus an innocent kitten heals you faster. I have no doubt Baby G is still there with you, whispering in the kitten’s ear with info to help her help you. Maybe you need an escape hatch to calm your mind. So even though I’m sure you won’t need it … here it is. For the next year, if you run into a medical issue that’s overwhelming for you, let me know. I’ll help you work something out or even take the kitten in until the issue is resolved if needed. We’ll reevaluate after a year to see how you feel. Does that help at all?
