? Adam dosing help 2/25 Switching from Prozinc to Basaglar

Switching from Pro Zinc to Basanglar ( spelling ) He is on 1 1/2 units twice a day. Do I keep it the same ? I tried to add his spreadsheet so hopefully its working in my signature now
 
You are fine to start with 1.5. It will take 5-7 days for the initial depot to fill. You don't have any tests since the curve to see how low he is going and that is how depot insulins are dosed. When are you going to start? It would be good to do another curve.
 
ok we did a curve today. We had a few issues with the dog barking at the UPS man and 2 storms coming through which freak him out. The Pro Zinc is pretty much empty at this point, and I know that makes his numbers higher also. I tried to update his spreadsheet with the curve we just finished so I hope it works. I am going to bed soon because it is 11pm here in Florida but I need to start him on the basaglar tomorrow as I don't think I will have enough Pro Zinc. Thanks for all your help

I agree but also remember that Basaglar is a depot insulin so don't expect miracles in the first few days. It can take 5-7 days before you see the full effect of the starting dose.

On your spreadsheet, you'll need to make a line "break" when you switch to Basaglar. If you look at China's spreadsheet for April 1, 2017, you'll see an example of what I'm talking about. If you have any problem doing it, send me a private message and I'll be happy to do it for you.
