DSiL's father called this morning, and he needs some running around done, so I'm out the door rushing to be back before DS's homeschool teacher gets here in 2 hrs. No time for red snapper this morning, will try later. Muffin seems well this morning, been outside twice already and impatiently waited for breffis.

Re: 9/7 Muffin amps 103

Lovely Tuesday morning for Muffin! I hope you get everything done and back home in time.

Re: 9/7 Muffin amps 103

Great AMPS, Muffin.
Anne, I hope your day settles down to be a pleasant one.

Re: 9/7 Muffin amps 103 +3 92

92 @ +3 and she's having a little lunch. Still haven't had time for the snapper, but will be able to offer for dinner. (Maybe I shouldn't be feeding her lunch...) Thanks everyone for calm day wishes - got back 15 mins early (time to get the front room floor mopped I thought) but teacher had just pulled up. Now going to get lunch for DS and me and then things should quiet down and I can visit condos.

Re: 9/7 Muffin amps 103 +3 92 +6 143

143 @ +6

I was making myself a turkey sandwich for lunch, and Muffin smelled the turkey right away and came running. I had to feed her 2 whole slices, just so I could get the sandwich made! Then when I was eating it, she was trying to help me! So I gave her a few more bites. All in all, she probably ate 3 slices. Right after that, my daughter and granddaughters came over. Muffin hid in the closet, but the littlest one found her (1.5 yrs old) So they both crowded in the closet with her to pet her, which Muffin hated, but tolerated for a bit until the little one grabbed her head and accidentally poked her in the eyes. Muffin hissed and I herded the girls away. Love to visit with them all, but calm and quiet? NOT! +6 was only 15 mins after they left, so may reflect some stress. Still planning on offering snapper tonight, cause I think she's had enough turkey for one day (I worry about the salt and things in it) but at least I know turkey works! This was the pre-packaged turkey, which is why I don't want to give her more, but I'll definitely get some from the deli now.

Woohoo! Go turkey!

And poor Muffin getting poked in the eye. The kids just can't resist a hiding cat, can they?

Re: 9/7 Muffin amps 103 +3 92 +6 143

No they sure can't. The drooler was quite happy Muffin was found, as it gave him a break from being terrorized. Just to clarify, they don't really do anything to terrorize the dog, they just want to pet him, but he is afraid of people he does not know and those little short people are especially scary! They move fast and make a lot of noise!

Gabby would agree. She manages to find the highest place in my closet when she really wants to get away from the chaos that is those "short" people. Maybe Muffin needs to think about finding a spot in the closet that's out of reach.

Re: 9/7 Muffin pmps 114

pmps 114 Maybe I need a slightly larger drop of insulin? She is not hungry this evening - probably too much turkey for lunch. I cooked the snapper - steamed one piece and sauteed one piece in a tiny bit of butter. Brought it to her where she was sleeping (here on the desk) and held it under her nose. She woke up, smelled it intently for about 5 seconds, put her head back down and went back to sleep. ohmygod_smile Kibby had a few bites of it, Shnookie and Sam both passed. What is wrong with my cats??! On the plus side, tho, still being full of turkey means no kibble either!

Re: 9/7 Muffin pmps 114

Well, I'm so familiar with this, that I actually thought the long 5 second sniff was a positive sign. I would have marked that with potential...

However, let's focus on success--belly full o'turkey = no kibble = success! Congratulations!

Re: 9/7 Muffin pmps 114

The 5 second sniff was definitely encouraging! Her little nose was right up to the fish! That's why I'll offer it again in the morning  I love that you so "get" her Amanda!

Umm...I went to do a bed time check at what should have been +3 (116) and uhh...the syringe is sitting there on the dresser where all her supplies are. ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile I forgot to shoot her! I feel so stupid! :-x  cat(2)_steam Well now it's too late to shoot, as I won't be here at noon tomorrow, so I have no choice but to skip it altogether tonight. What a dummy I am! And she did get hungry and I gave her some kibble, thinking it would be better that she eat tonight since I gave her insulin. ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile

Oh well, tomorrow's another day, and I'll do better then.

(((Anne))) not a dummy, these things happen, call it a fur shot, but don't call yourself names. :YMHUG:
It'll be ok.

Muffin will get back on track.

So take it easy on yourself k?

No worries.....we all have done that.....And as you said today is another day.

May today be a great day for you and Muffin. Hopefully, the "short" people won't be coming over today and Muffin can relax a bit...no eye-poking....just ear-poking, eh?

i would have been so excited about the feeding potential, i would have forgotten to shoot too, anne. looks like the muffin-girl might be ready to branch out a little in the feeding area. and frankly, when the lil people finally vacate our place, i rarely feel like eating, either...i'm generally ready for a nap! Where does all that energy go as we get on in years??
